@EliLake @KenDilanianNBC No. Nunes' claim was that DOJ misled the court by not telling it the Steele info was oppo research & not naming DNC and Clinton specifically. He was criticized for misleading people bc it turned out there was that long footnote and it's standard procedure not to name USPs. /1

@EliLake @KenDilanianNBC The IG report did not back Nunes' critique on either count. It was super harsh on the FBI and yet not about that stuff. Nor on most of the other things Nunes was throwing around, like the notion FISA court should have been told that Nelly Ohr worked for Fusion GPS. /2

@EliLake @KenDilanianNBC Nunes said they cited the Yahoo News article as corroboration for Steele even tho Steele was its source. When the memo was declass'd, he misled us because that's not why they cited it. They cited it to show what Page said in it. The IG report does not back Nunes on that either./3

@EliLake @KenDilanianNBC Meanwhile the problems that the IG found, like failing to pass on to the FISA court that the CIA said Page had talked to it over the years about his many meetings with Russian intelligence officials, were nowhere to be found in what Nunes was saying. /4

@EliLake @KenDilanianNBC You can't say the IG report vindicated him unless you blur the facts to a mindless level of abstraction ("Nunes claimed that the Page warrants had relied on sketchy information"). /5
