    1. Don DeLillo's "The Silence," a short story fraudulently marketed as a $22 novel by @ScribnerBooks, is an argument for brick and mortar book stores. Online you don't detect that even its meager 128 pages is achieved through big font & spacings, like a lazy undergrad's paper.

    Indeed, even its claim to 128 pages is a con; p. 117 is the last with words ("about the author") & lots of blank pages are scattered through it. Pp 73-79, for example, contain ~325 words. Maybe this is performance art critique of capitalism and the commodification of literature.
