I am happy to report that the NYT has changed its style rule for the name of the first President Bush. Bush41 is now "George H. W. Bush" rather than just "George Bush" without initials, a relic from before George W. Bush became a newsmaker and the two needed to be distinguished.

In my own books I also use the more precise monikers "Bush-Quayle administration" and "Bush-Cheney administration" and I urge all of society to do likewise.

We're also now going to spell the name of the Muslim minority group in China as "Uyghurs" rather than "Uighurs," which makes me worry about many articles I wrote in the late Bush43 and early Obama admin years about a certain ill-fated set of now-former Guantanamo detainees.
