U.S. officials said a Reaper drone followed a car for hours and then fired based on evidence it was carrying explosives. But in-depth video analysis and interviews at the site cast doubt on that account. nytimes.com/2021/09/10/world/asia/drone-isis-kabul-civilians.html

"It was a mistake." Pentagon completely walks back what it thought happened in the drone strike. No ISIS-K fighters killed, just 10 innocent people including 7 kids. Secondary explosion was likely from a propane tank, it now says, not any bomb in the car. nytimes.com/2021/09/17/us/politics/pentagon-drone-strike-afghanistan.html

With the NYT, I am suing CentCom under FOIA for public disclosure of aerial footage from the drone strike, starting 5 minutes before the drone began tracking the car and ending 5 minutes after the strike. int.nyt.com/data/documenttools/savage-nyt-foia-kabul-drone-strike-complaint/84534525b8627261/full.pdf
